Departments - Child Health Nursing

Pediatric nursing focuses on the well-being of children, both healthy and those facing illnesses. Our program equips students to identify typical childhood growth and development, as well as any deviations from the norm. They gain the skills to provide comprehensive care for children with various medical conditions.

The department boasts a specialized pediatric simulation lab featuring infant and child manikins for CPR and procedural practice. Additionally, the lab is equipped with essential tools like infant weighing scales and infantometers. Furthermore, the program incorporates age-appropriate play therapy techniques, demonstrated within the lab setting.

Area of Research: Preventive Paediatrics, Nursing Care of Children

The Department is involved in Research areas such as life style diseases, Nutrition and Health, life style, behavioral problems of children, effectiveness of a teaching programme on various problems, Neonatal Jaundice, pain among Infants, development of Nursing Care Protocol , play therapy, quality of life of Children with Health problems.
